"Has anyone else noticed their Crown Nectar looks a bit different this time around? I’ve been ordering refills for a while now, and the color and texture aren't quite the same as last month. Is that normal?"
It’s something we’ve heard a few times, so let’s dive into why this happens and why it’s actually a good thing.
Conventional Products vs. Wildcrafted Beauty
This is how conventional products look before they end up on your skin:
And this is what Wildcrafted Beauty’s products look like before they end up on your skin:
You might be wondering, okay but why would BIG companies still be using synthetic chemicals in their products? Well, the answer is because-
- they are cheap,
- faster to produce
- adds volume to the products,
- increases the shelf life of the products and
- provides a uniform look & texture to the products.
We get it—seeing your product look a little different each time can be surprising, especially when you’re used to everything being the same with other brands.
But those differences? That’s how you know our products are the real deal. They’re made with raw, natural ingredients that change with the seasons, just like the plants they come from.
At Wildcrafted Beauty, Our founder, Berlin, understood something that changed her perspective and vision pretty early on—
Our skin has a fantastic ability to absorb whatever we put on it,
So adding chemicals to our skin didn’t feel right. At all.
Which is why she made the decision that our products are going to be made in-house using raw, unbleached, and unaltered ingredients. And it shouldn’t be a surprise, really. She had been through A LOT which she shares in depth on her email list
You’ll hear it all: from severe cystic acne, painful allergic reactions to hair dyes, and other health challenges like PCOS left her searching for answers.
After years of frustration, she took matters into her own hands and started educating herself about holistic health restoration and clinical aromatherapy and even got certified in them.
She decided we were going to make products that are true to the plants they come from— which leads to something pretty special and unique.
Just like no two flowers are exactly alike, no two batches of our products will be either.
Why the Difference is a Good Thing
When you see a slight variation in color or texture, it’s actually a sign of purity. For example, the rich tones of our serums or the depth of the oils might change depending on the season or region the plants are harvested from.
The plants are alive, and their essence is alive in our products!
Here’s what to expect with some of our key ingredients:
- Myrrh Oil: If you notice tiny flakes in your serum, that’s not a mistake—it’s myrrh oil, known for its rich, resin-like texture. It’s heavier, giving your skin that deeper nourishment, and pairs beautifully with the sweetness of vanilla.
- Vanilla: Sometimes the vanilla we use can darken over time. Its natural color comes from the raw, unprocessed beans we use, meaning no two batches are exactly the same, but the scent and benefits remain as sweet as ever.
- Aritha (Soapnut): If you’ve tried our dreadlock shampoo bar, you may have noticed variations in their color too. That’s because we use aritha, a natural cleanser derived from soapnuts. It’s fantastic for the scalp and hair, but since we don’t bleach or alter it, each batch retains its natural differences.
- Rosemary Essential Oil: in our Cooling Veil is powerful in promoting hair growth and scalp health. It stimulates the hair follicles, helping to prevent hair thinning and shedding. Its antimicrobial properties help reduce dandruff and flaking, while its anti-inflammatory effects soothe an irritated scalp, making it a must-have for scalp care!
A Little Shake Goes a Long Way
You may also notice some ingredients sinking to the bottom of your bottle. This is perfectly normal! With natural ingredients, heavier elements can settle, so we recommend shaking your products before use to redistribute the goodness! Because we do not add any preservatives to our products, we always recommend using them within 90 days of getting them!
We know it can be surprising to see slight changes when you're used to uniformity in other products, but this variation is proof of the purity and authenticity behind Wildcrafted Beauty. Each bottle reflects nature's uniqueness, not a lab's precision. That's the magic of raw, living ingredients working in harmony with your skin.
